COVID-19 & Flooding Update:  June 2020

Latest communication from Lead Pastor, Michael T. Sawicki

Dear Aldersgate,
After much prayer and discernment, the Single Board Governance Team is releasing Phase 1 of a plan for re-opening the sanctuary on the Midland campus.  In developing this plan, we have sought to ensure your safety while balancing the many spiritual and social needs people have expressed.  To be clear, this is not a return to what was normal three months ago, but rather a cautious first step toward in-person worship.  The on-line streaming service will continue to be the primary mode for worship.  Please visit www.Aldersgate.Church for the most current log-in information.

Along with this letter, I have attached several supporting documents to fill out some of the details referenced in this reopening plan. These documents include: Screening Assessment Tool, Know Your Risk Guide, and Standard Precautions Policy.  As a matter of conscience toward God and out of love for others, congregants are expected to review and fully abide by the information in this letter and these supporting documents before choosing to come on campus for corporate viewing of service.
Phase 1
Beginning Sunday, May 31, the Midland Campus will be opened for limited Corporate Viewing of the 9:30am online service.  This means you can gather with others to watch the online worship.  The sanctuary seating capacity will be limited to 50 persons.
 - Participants will be required to pre-register for the limited seating available by using the following link:
 - Masks will be required while indoors on the church property. Masks are not required on individuals for whom masks are not medically appropriate and for children 2yrs and under.
 - Participants will refrain from singing during the service.
 - Participants are expected to self-screen using the Screening Assessment Tool, prior to entering the facility.  If individuals answer “yes” to any of the self-screening questions, we require that they continue to join the on-line service from home.
 - Child care and nursery will not be provided.
 - Children’s ministry will continue to be provided online. (See the link in the virtual bulletin.)
 - Offerings will be received on-line and at drop-boxes located near the exits.  Offering plates will not be passed.
 - Use of paper bulletins, paper flyers, and hymnals will be discontinued. A virtual bulletin has been created. See  You are permitted to bring your own printed copy for your personal use only.
 - A picture of the sanctuary will be taken during the service to verify seating arrangement.
We recognize that for some in our church this first phase of reopening may seem too restrictive, while others in our church will prefer to worship from home.  We thank you for your patience and prayers as we seek to be faithful to God’s leadership.
Because We Are Called,
Michael T. Sawicki
